2018 - 19 HHS Scorecard

  • Statewide 4th in English and 5th in Math SAT School Day score 
  • 8th overall in graduation rate, and 1st in AAA schools with a 98.2% graduation rate
  • On Track to Graduate rate was 2nd in the state
  •  SAT School Day test scores were best in the county

We will begin individual scheduling of Juniors on Monday, January 27th. The schedule will be posted on the 1st hall trophy case and upstairs by the front stairwell. Please check to see your appointment date and time.

Congratulations to our January Students of the Month: Caden Martin, Isaiah Huffman, Laken Hill and Audrey Hall. These students need to see Mrs. Sergent during Grab N Go or lunch to have their pictures made and get their certificates.

Unique Community Service opportunity! The Center is starting up a local television station for Hurricane and Putnam County. The Center is located in Hurricane at 2704 Main Street. They have opportunities for students that want to produce content for their television station this includes Production Crew, YouTube Production Crew, Stage Crew, Lighting and Sound Crew, Graphic Design Artists and more. Flyers with more details are available in the office.

The process for membership into National Honor Society will begin in early February.  See the information on the window outside of Room 254.

The Polar Plunge is requesting help from National Honor Society members or any student who needs community service.  See Ms. Grim for information.

All students in the CWST/Co-op program need to meet with Ms. Browne at the beginning of lunch in Room 250 before Friday, January 24!

If you are interested in taking the Polar Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics, please stop in the office for a flyer with full details!


Teays Physical Therapy Center Scholarship Applications are now available in the counseling office. Must be interested in an allied health field and have a 3.5 GPA, along with a completed application. Deadline is Feb. 21st. If no applications are in the office, see Mr. Merrit.

Governor’s Honors Academy Applications are now available for any interested junior.  The applications may be accessed on-line at   The completed application is due to your counselor no later than January 29th.  If you have any questions, please see your counselor.

Seniors, it’s that time of year to make sure you are searching and applying for scholarships!  We have two new applications in the counseling office, one for the Little General Scholarship and the WVU Endowment Fund Scholarship.
