The Michael Maddox Cancer Sux Memorial Scholarship Fund exists to honor Michael’s determination and spirit that shined through during his courageous battle against cancer. This scholarship was started by his family shortly after his passing with a mission to honor the overwhelming impression he left on so many. His overall demeanor and attitude on life was a gift to us all and is one we would like to return. Michael carried a key chain most of his adult life that simply said “Attitude Is Everything”. Michael always had a great attitude and tried to instill that into each of his children as well. When he was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, this motto became more important to him than ever. It wasn’t something he just said, it was truly his way of approaching life.
Please attach a short essay describing how having a good attitude helped you or someone you know through a difficult time.
Application deadline is May 1, 2026
